Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some commonly asked questions that may help guide you on the order process.
1. What makes your bass guitars different from mass-produced instruments?
Our boutique bass guitars are handcrafted with attention to every detail, ensuring superior quality, tone, and playability. Each instrument is crafted with the needs of the bassist in mind.

2. Can I customize the pickups, preamp, and hardware?
Yes! We offer customization options with high-quality components. Choose from Bartolini pickups, Bartolini or Aguilar preamps, and Hipshot hardware to achieve the perfect sound and feel for your bass.
3. Do you offer different body shapes and neck profiles?
Absolutely. We offer a variety of body shapes and neck profiles to suit your playing style and comfort. Every aspect of the bass is designed with you in mind, ensuring an instrument that feels like an extension of yourself.
4. How long does it take to build a custom bass guitar?
Our lead time varies depending on the complexity of your customizations, and material availability. But currently, a custom build takes between 3-4 months. We keep you updated at each stage to ensure your instrument is built to your specifications.
5. Can I select the wood types for the body, neck, and fingerboard?
Yes, wood selection is part of our custom build process. We guide you through choices that impact tone, weight, and aesthetics, to create a bass that meets your preferences.
6. Do you offer any warranty or support after purchase?
All of our instruments come with a warranty covering craftsmanship and materials. We’re here to assist with any maintenance questions or setup adjustments as you get to know your new bass. We also offer lifetime setups for each JClef, the owner is just responsible to get the bass to the shop.
7. Can I visit your workshop?
No. Not at this time. Because this is currently an “at home” shop, visits are not feasible.
8. How can I place an order or start a custom build?
You can start by contacting us through our website's "Contact Us" page. You can also go to the Custom Build Inquiry Form on the Pricing page to submit for a custom quote. We’ll discuss your vision, preferences, and specifications to create a truly custom instrument that’s uniquely yours.

9. Can I change my mind and receive a refund after placing an order for a custom bass with a down payment?
Yes and no. Upon making your 50% down payment, there is a 10-day waiting period while funds are processed and confirmed. During this time, you may choose to cancel your order, but a 35% processing and convenience fee will be deducted from your down payment. After the 10-day period, work begins, and the down payment becomes non-refundable. Refunds for custom builds are only considered under extraordinary, unforeseeable circumstances ('Acts of God') and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
